Blog topics are harder to come by for me nowadays, so I guess I'll just freestyle my way through this one ...
-Did anyone see that footage of that 15-year-old girl and her bus driver getting into a scrap? ... DAMN ... kids are being raised different nowadays I tell you ... When I was in middle school (yeah Newman was middle school) from grades 5-8, I was bused to school ... man, those bus rides represent about one third to about one half of my middle school memories ... Some of the funniest things I've seen in my life, which are still spoken of till this day ... But one thing that any of us would've ever thought of was getting in the bus driver's face, let alone taking a swing at her ... Although, I'm convinced to this day she hated us for all of our bus ride antics ... Her best quote came every now and then, when another one of her fellow bus drivers would pull up alongside our bus, she'd say "they're supposedly gifted" (referring to us), LMFAO ... yup, we were hooligans ...
-I was at the Bose store the other day ... from a quality and technology standpoint, they are second to none, but as far as pricing goes, let's just say that I'll wait till the after-Christmas sale when I have some coupons to tag-team with that ... Small speakers, Big Sound ... They have this CD-Clock-Radio that stores up to 340 hours of music, from your CD's ... therefore, if you have a whole collection of CDs you simply insert each one in, then hit the store button, then all your music is there, without having to switch CDs ... But, I didn't get to the best part ... It "gets to know you" ... what I mean by that, as you continue to select your music, the machine will start to learn about your music tastes, during which points in the day, or whatever you're doing, it will play what it "thinks" you would like ... there wasn't that kind of time for a demonstration, but the concept of that is awesome ... Ahhh, a machine that can think ... artificial intelligence may not be that far in our futures ...
-I had a free preview of the Mystery Channel for the past month, but I really only watched it for one show ... That was Unsolved Mysteries ... I'm tellin' you, that show freaked me out when I was young ... That theme music, Robert Stack's voice, watching it at night ... It always made me feel like someone was watching me from outside my window ... As far as watching it on Mystery Channel for the past month, it was me trying to conquer an old fear ... LMFAO ...
-They have Unsolved Mysteries on DVD now ... They seem to have every old show on DVD, with the exception of one, The Wonder Years ... For one simple reason, the music rights ... I had it explained to me the other day that these old TV shows didn't have any rights to any music, but were able to use it because they were broadcasting it, not selling it ... It's no different than radio stations playing music on the airwaves ... But in order to put music on DVD boxsets, the distributing companies need to secure the rights to them ... And since The Wonder Years used a whole bunch of classic music such as The Beatles, the costs to secure the music would simply be unreasonable ... ***sigh***, The Wonder Years, the best show not yet released on DVD, and the best show that never will be released ...
I'm tired, all for now ...

Justice League Movie; The Time Machine book; Good Food
I was reading that a Justice League of America movie is set to begin production for a 2009 release ... I for one, am anxious to see how this turns out ... Over the past few years, we've seen tons of Marvel movies released ie. Spiderman, X-Men, Hulk, Fantastic Four ... Growing up, I absolutely detested Marvel ... today, but not with the same level of hate, I still am not a fan of it ... I was a DC fan back in the day, so news of a Justice League film with all the "big guns" of DC Comics piques my interest ... I was a huge fan of the original Batman film in 1989, starring Michael Keaton, Batman Returns was so-so for me and the proceeding films in my opinion were just horrible ... Batman begins, starring Christian Bale, was a lot better, sure it did have points in the movie that just dragged, but it gave it a more "realistic" spin to the Batman mythology ... I found Superman Returns to be a bit dry ... However, no matter how crappy the plotlines of the DC movies were, in my opinion they were still head and shoulders above anything Marvel put out ... I think it's a good decision by producers of Justice League, not to go with the big money actors to portray each superhero, because there should not be one character that completely dominates the film, ie. Wolverine in X-Men ... Finally, I'm real interested to see how Superman and Batman are able to co-exist, afterall, each make up one half of DC's marquee, and both have tremendous fan bases ...
Shifting ... I originally read The Time Machine, 2-3 years back and read it again a few days ago ... I have to say, considering the year which this novel was written, it is way ahead of its time ... It not only focuses on the concept of time travel, but it is also intertwined with the notion of evolution ... What's unique about the novel, is the lack of dialogue and focus on the characters themselves ... H.G. Wells chooses to put his focus on the concepts themselves ... Now that I think about it, that is very similar to what movie producers and musical artists do nowadays ... In movies, a lot of producers try to "sell" their film solely on the special effects ... Think back to Jurassic Park, nobody gave a sh*t about the characters or even plotline, people were just in awe of the dinosaurs and special effects, not saying I didn't enjoy the film ... In music, and we see it far to often now, artists will try and sell their music on a hook, or a good beat or a hot video ... The difference with The Time Machine is that this was groundbreaking in terms of novels, probably the first novel of the science fiction genre ... Whereas, movies with special effects and music dependent on beats and hooks, are constantly being introduced to an already saturated market ... I have to say I loved the book, and also Wells' novels to follow such as The Invisible Man and The War of the Worlds ... So to all the movie producers and musical artists out there, one word, actually two ... originality please ...
Downtown Toronto is not the best place to "look" or "find" somewhere to eat ... Most of the new buildings going up are usually condos and any place to eat is usually fast food ... But today was one of those exceptions, I was walking east on Bloor across from the museum and I stumbled upon this place, Burrito Fresh ... Now I was starving, and only behind Philly Cheesesteaks and any type of Chicken (fried, rotisserie, wings), Latino food is my fave ... So stumbling upon this place was like a God-send ... Their menu consists of Burritos and Quesadillas, and they actually use real ingredients, unlike that Taco Bell ish, even though I go there every once in a while ... I'm trying to get in shape so the more "real" the ingredients, the better for me ... There are not that many places in Toronto with any good Mexican or Latino food ... I got a chicken burrito ... hands down the best burrito I had in my life ... If that place had enchilladas, I'd probably still be there ... Well that's a free plug for that place ...
Lastly, I've given a new name to my pain, and it is Jose Fraud-eron ... he may have fooled a lot of people into thinking that he actually is a premiere point guard in the NBA, but the time will come when J-Smooth is proven right, just like I was about McGrady being better than Carter, Billups eventually becoming one of the best lead guards and the Detroit Pistons beating the Los Angeles Lakers in 2004 ...

Spontaneous Friday
Friday night, I planned to do nothing but stick to my new workout routine, then get some much needed sleep ... On a side note, I'm totally lovin' my mini home gym ... I set up my CD/Clock/Radio down there as well, there's nothin' that gets me more amped to work out than music ... My basement's become somewhat of a sanctuary, a place to be alone, get some work in and relax to music ... However, sure enough, in the middle of my workout, I get a phone call from Anthro to come out and chill, despite my desire for a quiet night, I always jump at the chance to chill with close friends, because we barely kick it as is and I haven't gotten out much over the past year's time ... But lately Anthro, his cousin Roldy and myself have become quite the running mates, even Prophet came out with us this time ... We hit up the same spot as last time, and we also got in some games of billiards ... Anthro and myself have developed quite the rivalry, but Friday was complete J-Smooth 9-Ball domination ... Game 1: J closes with a cross-table bank shot, Game 2: J finishes with a 3-9 combo ... Ahhh, that's gotta hurt, huh Anthro?, no worries you'll get plenty of chances for revenge in the future ... Had a convo with Prophet, later that night as well ... As our friendship has evolved, the context of our convos have as well (from reflection, analysis and past to perspective, possibility and future) ... Prophet mentioned how in my blogs, I've been alluding to changes coming up in my life ... I'll say it's sure looking that way, it's also looking like people are headed in different directions and choosing new paths ... My reaction to the possibilities is the same as my reaction to most anything, no worries, because it always works out ... Convos with guys like Prophet and Anthro are always good because, I never have to watch what I say and I don't have to adjust to a different level of conversation ...
Now I think about if I had gone through with my original Friday plans ... I would've missed out, good company, good convos, good times ...

Sucks to be him; Studies; Soreness
I've been slackin' on this blog thing ... so here's a lil' somethin' for my faithful ...
-I posted this video on my Facebook page via YouTube, of this guy proposing to his apparent girlfriend at a Houston Rockets game ... For those that haven't seen the YouTube video, the guy got flat out rejected ... I must've watched that video more than a dozen times, because it was just hilarious ... What made it funny was the reactions of those around the guy ... in his moment of sadness, someone handed the poor guy a beer ... Tracy McGrady couldn't contain his laughter ... The mascot's reaction was funny as well ... The commentators were rubbing it in by saying stuff like "well he'll get over it in about 10-12 years" and "it's the NBA, it's amazing, where amazing happens" ... That dude will never be able to show his face in that arena again ... Just imagine the humiliation, now that more than a quarter of a million people have seen that video on YouTube ... I know, people will say "J, you wouldn't be laughing if that happened to you" ... Well two things: First, I wouldn't propose to a girl unless I knew full well she'd say yes; Second, I wouldn't propose to a girl in front of all those people, not knowing what her answer is gonna be ... Ahh well, at least I got a good kick out of it ...
-Something just occured to me ... Have you ever heard stuff like this in the news or on the radio ... (so-and-so) university conducted a study and they've concluded that (x percentage) of people, (blah blah blah) ... The thing with those studies that annoys me is that they pre-suppose an outcome ... a guarantee, if you will ... They present probabilities in a closed testing environment, with limited factors that affect the outcome ... however, there are an infinite number of factors that can affect any outcome ... Upon hearing the results of these studies, I'm assuming there are a lot of people who make changes in their life in order to achieve the desired result outlined by the study ... For example, if there was a study that said, sitting in front of the computer for more than 6 hours a day can lead to some type of cancer, I'm sure a lot of people who did so would make changes ... But again, just because they avoid prolonged computer use, doesn't guarantee that they won't get cancer, in addition prolonged computer use also doesn't guarantee you will get it ... I guess my point is, there are outcomes that are simply unavoidable ... I'm a firm believer in living life on your own terms, there would be no point to life if we were being told how to live it every step of the way ...
-I just set up a mini home gym in my basement, so far I have the bench press and the Total Gym set up ... I worked out for about an hour and a half, boy am I sore ... The only things missing in my "gym" are a punching bag, speed bag and a machine for cardio (treadmill, bike or eliptical) ... I've let myself get so far away from the shape I was in a couple years ago ... I plan on being more active this summer, playing a lot of golf and ball ... Getting myself in good shape, by shedding about 10-15 pounds, will help a great amount ... The toughest part by far is the soreness of first starting out ... with that part over with, it's time to get down to business ...

Pretty Boy in WWE?
Oh G*d, just when I thought I'd seen it all, I was wrong ... Floyd "Pretty Boy" Mayweather has apparently crossed over into the world of pro wrestling ... I just read an article on how he appeared on tonight's WWE PayPerView ... LOL, just goes to show how out of tune I am, I didn't even know they had one tonight ... Apparently Floyd got into an "altercation" with The Big Show, landing some "stiff" shots to Show's face ... The article says they made it look pretty real, ala the Mike Tyson - "Stone Cold" Steve Austin thing about 10 years back ... Oh man, has it really been that long? ... I remember myself back then, thinking about how real that looked ... Anyways, back to Floyd, I was sayin many posts back that I thought he was stupid for considering jumping to MMA ... But WWE and Floyd on the other hand, seem like a perfect match ...

NBA All-Star Saturday; Taylor-Pavlik 2
Last night ... kicked it with Fam, tuned into some ball and a PPV fight ...
My take on NBA All-Star 1st off, the dunk competition ... the TV analysts were going on-and-on about how creative all the dunks were ... in my opinion "cheese" ... the "birthday cake" dunk by Gerald Green, for me, goes down as all-time cheesiest dunk ... Dwight Howard, to his credit is quite the showman ... while he was creative, in all honesty, the dunks looked much better on replay, as opposed to the live TV view ... Even though I hate to say this, but the Vince Carter-Tracy McGrady dunk contest in 2000 was the best dunk off of all-time ... Because the dunks coming from young VC and T-Mac had that "wow" factor and that "what the f*ck did I just see?" effect ... Another thing that was funny about the TV analysts last night was that they said stuff like "the dunk contest is back", "it hasn't been entertaining the past few years" ... I've watched the dunk contest every year and those same identical statements have been echoed every year ... They'll never be able to top 2000, unless someone comes out with the 720 or a 360-through-the-legs ...
Looks like the Jason Kidd-to-Dallas deal may not go through, damn Devean George! ... But my boy Mike Bibby got dealt to Atlanta, ughh, sucks to be him ... there's nobody on the Hawks that I actually like ... Maybe if the Hawks find a way to deal for Tracy McGrady, who's been rumored to be on the block, I would shift my support over to Atlanta, two of my fave players on the same team ... As far as who my current fave players in the league go, they are: Dwight Howard, the guy is simply a beast, a man-child, every adjective used to describe him is all true, he'll be the next great dominant big in the league; Chris Paul, now he is exactly what a point guard is supposed to be; finally, this surprises me and will surprise some people, Hedo Turkoglu, this guy has simply been playing out of his mind this year ... Career highs in almost all the major stats, clutch shooter and is not the typical one-dimensional Euro player ... I looked at one of his statlines, single digit points in one game, but he had double-digits in assists and rebounds ... he definitely got robbed for an all-star spot this year ...
My take on the Jermain Taylor - Kelly Pavlik rematch ... I don't think I've ever been that entertained with a straight-up boxing match before ... neither man being knocked down, neither man getting staggered nor was either man seriously hurt ... Jermain Taylor looked awesome in the fight, Kelly Pavlik meanwhile didn't look like the same fighter that knocked out Edison Miranda and Taylor last year ... He seemed to be labouring a lot more ... I said going into the rematch that Taylor had to protect better against Pavlik's jab, because in my opinion, that's what wore him down in the first fight and eventually led to the knockout ... While Taylor did a better job this time around, he was still getting picked off a few times ... I was screaming at the television for Taylor to get the "earmuffs" up when Pavlik came at him with the jab-cross combination, then Taylor would've had great openings for counters (a left hook or right cross over the top) ... Now the scoring, one judges score was completely ludicrous, 117-111, whoever that was should have their judging license revoked ... it was a very close fight ... After 10 rounds I had it 5-4 in favour of Taylor, with one round even ... Pavlik stole the 11th round with that devestating body shot at the end of the round, forcing Taylor to clinch ... In the 12th Taylor didn't have much left, thus Pavlik won the final two rounds ... my final score was 6-5 Pavlik, one round even ... As far as judging goes, Pavlik won the fight because he was consistently throwing and moving forward ... Taylor though landed the better power shots and had better spurts of power combinations ... This was by far Taylor's best defensive effort of his career, he avoided the ropes the whole fight, with the exception of the 11th round body shot ... I'm clearly a Jermain Taylor fan now and am anxious to see where he goes from here, he's clearly not done ... I'd like to see him match up with Felix Trinidad or Joe Calzaghe ... Meanwhile, my stance on Kelly Pavlik has softened a bit, with the empty seats at last night's fight, he's clearly shown that he's not as big a draw as Bob Arum and Top Rank Promotions had hoped ... Pavlik may not have an HBO PPV fight for a while ... Taylor probably has a better chance of landing a PPV fight, that's if he gets a shot at Trinidad or Calzaghe ... Final thoughts, it was a very good fight, Jermain Taylor has nothing to be ashamed of ... a good way to start off 2008 in the world of boxing ...

Grammy's; boxing; Saturday's realization
-I watched the Grammy Awards pretty sporadically last night ... I haven't really had much of an interest in any awards shows ... a bunch of rich people getting even more attention than they already get ... in my opinion (and I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks so), the results of those awards shows have always been fixed ... the one part of the show that sticks out for me was Kanye's acceptance speech ... now I've never been a fan of his since his acting like a b*tch a few years ago on FLOW 93.5 (Toronto station) ... I also lost more respect for him when I heard about how he acts in clubs, supposedly (and I don't doubt it at all) he throws a fit when he doesn't hear his tracks played ... man, how egotistical can one be? ... in his acceptance speech last night, wow, can someone come across any more arrogant than he did? ... I'm not talking about him paying tribute to his mom, but just how he was demanding mic time, there could be a better way to do it ... they initially cut him off, not because of his talking about his mom, but because he was ranting about the state of hip hop ... I don't understand how someone can actually believe the world should be 24/7 about them ...
-my father taped the fight for me because I couldn't watch it live ... So the dubbed "most feared welterweight" Paul Williams went down to Carlos Quintana, consequently losing his WBO welterweight crown and puts the first loss on his record ... I couldn't believe what I was seeing ... After looking so good against Antonio Margarito, he didn't look like the same man in this fight ... This was also the same Quintana that got dominated by Miguel Cotto ... I guess Williams can kiss his hopes for a Cotto or Floyd Mayweather bout goodbye ...
-Saturday night, I was called out last minute by Anthro to hang out with his cousin Roldy ... To my surprise we hit up this place holding great memories for me, in my infamous summer of '03 ... It's this bar/lounge, it's a nice place, pool tables, lounge seats, bar, dance floor, a good place just to kick back, or meet people, best part about it, no cover, no strict dress code, for the most part, come as you are ... that's the same place where I met a couple girls I had "relations" with back in '03, I can't believe it's been that long ... a lot's changed about that place since then, or maybe it's just me ... after speaking with Anthro that night, it suddenly hit me how different things will be a year from now ... Plans are pretty much set for me, I've never been one to be afraid of change, but there's a feeling of uncertainty as to how I'll react to these changes ... it'll be the path which finally sets the course for the rest of my life ... LOL, I know, big statement, kind of overdramatic, but if I think about it, there's no turning back this time, no do-over ... despite the uncertainty, I'm relieved about it as well ...

Snow; Shaq
Haven’t been bloggin’ for the past few days ... partly writer’s block ... partly busy and spent ... I mean, between my normal day-to-day stuff and shovelling, where can one find the time ... this morning marked the third morning in a row, I was outside in my one-on-one matchup with mother nature ... Speaking in boxing terms, the opponent looked intimidating, built a lead in the early rounds, it looked insurmountable at times, but J-Smooth prevailed as always ... This morning I was shovelling that mass at the end of the driveway that the plows left overnight ... I managed to bust a shovel ... This white lady that lives at the other end of my street was driving into the street ... she rolls down her window:
Lady: doesn’t this make you feel good to be living in Canada
Smooth: ***corporate laugh*** oh yeah, I love it here
Lady: you know ... they have a new term for that (referring to the snow mass) in the Webster’s Dictionary ... it’s called “snowcrete”
Smooth: ***corporate laugh*** snowcrete, huh?
Indeed, snowcrete ... I call it “another job for J” or “another lost hour from my day” ...
Over the past few days, I’ve been seeing all these deals being consummated in the NBA ... Re: the Gasol deal, I’m far from his biggest fan, but watching how the Lakers played in his first game against the Nets, I have to say they looked good, they play an unselfish style of ball ... I would’ve never said that about a team with Kobe 5 years ago ... I let my feelings about the Shaquille O'Neal-to-Suns trade marinate over the past few days ... What’s surprising is I still have a mixed opinion over it ... At first I was negative, I thought Kerr trading his most versatile player for an aging Shaq was completely idiotic, Shaq doesn’t fit Phoenix’s fast-break style ball ... But then I thought, you don’t run the break with 5 guys anyways ... Thought about it more, when was the last time run-and-gun, fast-break ball ever won a championship? Last time was probably Magic’s Showtime Lakers, but ahh they had Kareem ... Phoenix hasn’t won a title, Shaq’s got 4 rings ... They’re definitely going to need a big to be able to match up with the Western Conferences other bigs ... The thing is, Shaq doesn’t need to be the dominant Shaq of old, he just needs to be a presence ... So I guess, my opinion at this point is a cautious approval of the deal ...

Welcome Back TJ; movies inspiring life?
-Ford's back! ... Finally a reason for me to tune into Raps games again, I don't think I've watched over the past 2-3 weeks, which is a record by my standards ... people can criticize me, call me crazy, all they want ... but TJ is the best pure talent on that team ... yes, I said it ... When he's hitting his jumper, he's pretty much unguardable ...
-what's the deal with this doctor, holding people at gunpoint, harvesting their kidneys and selling them on the market? disgusting! ... not exactly identical, but it reminded me of that movie John Q, a crazed man, using a gun as force to get a transplant ... come to think of it, a few of the ugliest events in recent history have elements of movies ... 9/11, remember it like it was yesterday, a lot of the footage was reminiscent of Independence Day ... The Columbine shootings, had elements of the Matrix ... I had a discussion about this a few days ago, about life imitating art ... but my reply, art, whether it be books, paintings, in this case movies are not to blame for these tragic events ... art doesn't make people do things, people do things ...
Not the most profound post, but hey, all that comes to mind ...

Super Bowl reaction
I watched the game at Anthro's place last night, he had a bunch of people together ... While the first three quarters were boring, I have to say that the fourth was the greatest quarter of football I've ever seen ... Now I'm not the biggest football fan, but that was awesome ... First things first, where do the Patriots go from here? I mean, how do you recover from that? I mean, 50 some odd seconds from a perfect season ... I was actually rooting for the Pats to win, because I wanted to see history ... when Randy Moss scored that touchdown with 2+ minutes to go, I don't think I've ever been that pumped during a football game ... and when Manning evaded the sack and Tyree with that miracle catch, talk about getting the wind let out of your sails, LOL ... I'll finish off by sayin' F*** the Giants, this is the second time they've wrecked my hopes in a Super Bowl ...

Toronto Bills; Kobe; Get Well Eva
-So the Buffalo Bills have approval to play 8 games over 5 years at Toronto's Rogers Centre ... yeah yeah! ... my fave NFL team since I was in kindergarden ... hopefully this leads to a permanent re-location ... the NFL is the missing piece to Toronto's sports tri-fecta ... will it kill the Argonauts? I don't think so ... the people who are loyal to the CFL product will stay loyal ... Toronto is a big enough market to support two football franchises ... And even if it kills the Argos, subsequently the CFL, I wouldn't care one bit ...
-I just checked NBA.com ... LOL, Kobe torched the Raptors for 46 ... I was a fan of Kobe when he first hit the league, then I hated on him for a while, hated him more after the alleged sexual misconduct, then forgave him after he scored 81 ... hey Kobe, when your contract's up, check us out up here in the T-Dot ... I've got a bet going and your presence would definitely help ...
-How does Zona get news quicker on my women faster than me? LMFAO ... Anyways, my best wishes to Eva Mendes, who's reportedly in rehab for substance abuse ... I applaud her on checking in, on her own accord ... it must not be easy to admit you have a problem ... Get Well Eva, from one of your biggest fans ...

Indoor Friday + ***UPDATE***
Indoors today ... not by choice ... the weather pretty much made the decision for me ...
This is my day off so I don't mind at all ...
-First things first, I got up and made myself breakfast ... Eggs and Corned Beef, yeah baby, the Breakfast of Champions ... With my future kids, I don't give a F***, they're bein' raised on eggs and corned beef, same way as me ... no worries, I'll be sure to alternate that with Quaker Oats, yeah! ...
-I watched Tyra's show, but before y'all clown me, I had good reason .... Not that Tyra herself isn't a good enough reason (that's another woman that's fine as hell), but Jessica Alba was a guest today ... I'm still in denial over the fact that she's pregnant and engaged ... it wasn't just the eye candy that was interesting, but they were discussing Jessica's new movie, "Eye" ... The premise is the concept of cellular memory ... for those of you that don't know, it's when a patient that recieves a donated organ, inherits memories from their donor ... for example, on the show today, they had a guest that had a liver transplant, whom prior to the operation loved chocolate and sweets ... after the operation he lost his "sweet tooth" and preferred spaghetti and then became a lover of roller coasters ... as it turns out, the donor, loved spaghetti and loved riding roller coasters ... Overall, an interesting concept ... it makes one question whether the mind is solely a brain function ... If you're a philosophy buff, this may add more fuel to the mind-body problem argument ... This whole cellular memory concept demonstrates that the mind and body can somewhat be separated, hmmm ...
-I was surfing the web a bit and came across Chris Bosh's new YouTube video ... I'm sure y'all have seen his all-star promo video with him acting as a used car salesman, "Fillin' out these ballots is as easy as cow tippin' ... ain't that right Bubba?!", LMFAO ... This time Bosh plays a British news reporter, "Blane Harrington" ... It's goofy-funny, maybe a little cheesy, but funny nonetheless ... he's becoming quite the personality/character, and I think fair to say more entertaining than Gilbert Arenas' usual/repetitive rants ... Maybe Bosh is preparing for a career after ball, sketch comedy, ala Chappelle Show, MAD TV, SNL ... Bosh's username on YouTube is CBoshTV, if y'all want to check the vid ...
-Can't be talking about my Friday without mentioning the weather ... got outside to shovel, because I don't want to be shovelling the accumulated precipitation for the day ... Plus, that's the closest I'm getting to going out today/tonight ... When I shovelled, the sidewalk plows came by and took care of the sidewalk snow for me, I raised my fist in the air to salute the plower ... But that was 2 hours ago ... I just looked outside my window, and mother nature put back what I got rid of, and thensome ... Man, this weather makes me feel awful proud to be a Canadian ...
***UPDATE***
Phase 2 shovelling complete! ... with my father working out of town, all his work falls on my shoulders ... now a convo with my mother, after I come back in the house and she's been plopped on the couch watching TV the whole time I was out ...
J-Smooth: such a great mom ... thanks for helping out ...
Momma Smooth: you know what J ... I'm tired
J-Smooth: from what?! ... you only worked half a day, you got sent home early
Momma Smooth: hey I pay the bills, you live here for free
J-Smooth: you call yard work, home renos and domestic work free?
Momma Smooth: hey, I brought you here to Canada to give you everything I didn't have, kids back home don't have the opportunity to shovel
J-Smooth: gee, thanks ... You and dad said you were going to buy a snow blower back in the fall ... what happened to that?
Momma Smooth: you shovel so well and you seem to enjoy it so much ... we couldn't take that away from you
What great parents I have, so giving, so generous ...
-What is this I'm reading on RealGM? ... Pau Gasol to the Lakers for Kwame Brown and a couple of 1st Round picks ... What is Jerry West smoking? and can I get a hit of that? ... All I can say is thank G*d he didn't get traded to the Raps, it would be another player/scrub whose d*ck Raps fans would jump on ...
