Before you all start getting ideas ... no ... this post won't be about Red Shoe Diaries or The Hitchhiker ... however, on a side note, nothing did grab my attention and make my eyes light up back in the day (as I'm sure for all high school guys) more than those magical words,

Anyhow, back on topic, I'm sure for everyone that there were TV shows that they watched, that were not the greatest by any stretch, but couldn't help but watching ... My reasons, more often than not were for the hot women ... For me, Flipper was one (ahhhhh, Jessica Alba), Student Bodies was the other ... To my American readership, it was a Canadian show cut in the same mold as Saved by the Bell, but turn the cheese factor up by 100 ... When I first saw the show, I thought exactly as I said previously "cheese!" ... But when I saw some of the newer episodes, they started portraying this character, the Latina chick (but after Wiki research, she's actually Spanish), Grace (Victoria Sanchez) as more of a normal girl (she was more of a rocker freak in the first season) ... After that I was hooked ... To my surprise, a lot of guys in my high school watched the show too, but their attention was drawn to the female star of the show Emily (Nicole Lyn), the half black/half white chick, but from what I read on Wikipedia, she's also part Chinese and Portuguese ... Don't get me wrong, Emily wasn't bad looking by any means, but I just thought Grace looked 10 times better ... All I would have to argue is "remember the episode where she was wearing nothing but a football jersey?", case and point ... The worst episode for me was when she left the show, I was in one word, devestated, LOL ... Then they replaced her with this busted a**, vanilla chick, who was flat out nasty ... I completely lost interest in the show after that ... Oh yeah, what was the whole point of this entry in the first place? ... Showcase has it part of their regular morning lineup now, I just found out this morning, two back-to-back episodes at 8:00 and 8:30 ... It was the same feeling as hearing a song on the radio that you totally forgot about and haven't heard in ages ... I definitely won't be watching this show on the regular, but it was a nice flashback to less complicated times ... Besides, from checking the TV guide, tommorrow they're showing the episode where Grace leaves ...

Toronto + ***UPDATE***
Walking around Downtown Toronto Saturday night, it really hit me on how completely sick I am of being here ... Working and Schooling here for all these years has really taken its toll on my psyche and I'm starved for a change ... I never say never, but I'm 99% sure that Toronto is not the place where I eventually settle down, whether that actually comes to fruition is another story ... I mean, my whole life has been here, fam and friends are up here, all of which are important to me, and yes I'm comfortable up here, but to best describe my inner state, it's like being pulled in opposite directions, a tug-of-war between sticking in a comfort zone and feelings of restlessness ... my eventual departure to Japan should serve me well ...
***UPDATE***
When the idea of leaving for Japan entered my mind just over a year ago, I thought it would suck because of a lack of ball coverage ... I wouldn't get to see my team (the Craptors) on a regular ... but now, it wouldn't bother me at all ... that sh*tty a** team! ... hey Colangelo, keep doing what you're doing and run this team into the ground ... keep drafting and signing these soft a** Euro players, sign Frauderon to the max, trade TJ and trade CB4 so that Bargnani becomes the centerpiece of your team as you and Stupidzio R*tardini envisioned ... who needs a 2nd scorer, rebounding or defense, when you can play this finesse/FIBA style ball ... Colangelo = Genius, his best quote, actually more of a paraphrase, I don't have it exactly,
The game is evolving so that guys like Andrea Bargnani can play the 5 position
-Raptors President and General Manager Bryan Colangelo
LMFAO at the Toronto Craptors and all of their idiotic fans!

"HBO PPV" Saturday
A brief J-Smooth synopsis:
-It was supposed to be a night where it was demonstrated what put the "super" in Supermanthro
-It was also supposed to be the night where J made his comeback and showed what made him "smooth"
-But at the end of the night Prophet demonstrated again why he is called "prophet"
Now instead of the same ol' J-Smooth rant, I thought I'd be a little more creative, what if HBO PPV covered Saturday night's events, how would it be? maybe something like this:
(hosts Jim Lampley, Larry Merchant and Emanuel Steward)
PRE-FIGHT:
Lampley: Hello everyone, we are north of the border, on a chilly night in Toronto, Canada. Octal's Pimping Promotions presents a huge double header for you tonight, featuring the game's most exciting young prospect, perhaps the most talked about men in the game right now, yes I'm talking about Fil-Can sensation Supermanthro. The other half of this double main event is a veteran warrior, who's making his return to the game after a 4-year absence and looking to re-establish his dominance, a former champion on multiple occasions, J-Smooth. But first on tonight's undercard, another veteran and former 2-time champion and perhaps one of the most under-rated individuals in the game, Black Prophet. As always I'm joined alongside long-time colleagues, Emanuel Steward and Larry Merchant. Emanuel, let's first talk about Prophet's match, what do you expect out of him tonight?
Steward: Well Jim, what you said is correct, Prophet is perhaps one of the most under-rated fighters this game has seen. He's held a couple titles, but hasn't really been given much pub. He's a defensive style fighter, usually reacting to what his opponent does, and he really doesn't force the action. That may be a contributing factor as to why he is not considered a bigger draw at this point in his career. But the one thing that he is great at, and perhaps one of the best of all-time at, is his in-ring psychology. He just has a knack for being able to read the opposition. I expect him to win his fight by a unanimous decision tonight.
Lampley: Let's turn our attention to the first half of the double main event, in a pre-recorded interview with our own Larry Merchant and J-Smooth.
Merchant: J, what made you decide four years since your last fight, to make your return. Why here and why now?
J-Smooth: Well Larry, over the past year I've been having off-and-on conversations with a good friend of mine, Octal, about making a return to the ring and signing to his promotion. But it didn't feel right at the time when he first approached me. You know, I felt that I'd accomplished everything that I'd wanted to in my career up to that point. But a lot of noise has been created by some critics over the past little while, questioning my abilities, perhaps suggesting that I was over-rated and wouldn't be able to cut it in the game today. Also I've been getting some encouragement from a couple other friends, Anthro and Prophet, who are also signed to Octal's promotion, to get back into the ring. Finally, you know, watching from the sidelines, in my opinion the business seems like it's in a tailspin. So when Octal presented tonight's fight to me, I thought it would be a great opportunity to silence my critics, bring some credibility back to the game and show that I can still hang with today's young talent.
Merchant: Will we see the old J-Smooth in action tonight?
J-Smooth: Well I had a very good sparring session around new year's this year, and a couple good workouts recently. Everything still feels the same. I'm confident, focused and ready to go. You know, as long as I do things as I've prepared for and do the things that've made me successful in the past, you know, I'm confident that I'll come away tonight with the win and hopefully give the fans a good show.
Merchant: Thanks J.
J-Smooth: Sure thing.
Lampley: Now let's turn our focus, to one of the game's most talked about individuals in recent memory, one Supermanthro. Emanuel, he's known for his excitement as he is just a noisy storm in the ring, not afraid to fight and landing shots at a high frequency and rate of accuracy. Perhaps the only question mark on him is his ability to finish off his opponent. In his last fight, he had his opponent on the ropes and only came away with the decision. What does he need to do to get that one big knockout under his belt and maybe get himself in position for a title fight?
Steward: The one thing that all great fighters have in common is their ability to smell blood in the water and go in for the kill. Anthro has definitely shown, that he is a draw, as the fans have come out in droves in his past few fights. He's also demonstrated his skillset and unique fighting style that have made him a superstar. The thing that I've noticed in the later stages of his fights is how he fails to listen to his corner. I think if he does that tonight, he will put himself among the game's elite.
Lampley: Well, the stage is set, let's go into the ring, where Michael Buffer is standing by ...
FIGHT RESULTS:
Black Prophet - W12 UD (Unanimous Decision)
-stuck to his defensive game plan. but in-ring psychology, on point as always.
J-Smooth - NC1 (No Contest-Incidental headbutt)
-night was ended pre-maturely an incidental headbutt to the right eye. ringside doctor had no choice but to put a stoppage to the fight, feeling the damage was severe enough.
Supermanthro - Draw
-first fight on a big stage. may have been distracted by the big crowd and fans. didn't throw nearly as many punches as in a typical Anthro fight. but wasn't hurt himself.

TJ Ford on The Chuck Swirsky Show; Terminator renewed
I know I already blogged once today, but this was too good to pass up ... TJ Ford was on Chuck Swirsky's show on the FAN590 this afternoon ... Oh god, the line of questioning was funny as hell ...
-"TJ what's going on in your head when your not playing basketball?"
-"TJ how do you unwind after a game?"
-"TJ what time do you go to bed?"
-"TJ what time do you wake up?"
-"TJ what do you eat for breakfast?"
-"TJ do you have a special diet?"
couple that with Chuck completely kissing up to TJ, "you absolutely abused Carlos Arroyo last night!" ... that line was probably used 10 times ...
What is this Swirsk? I love Swirsky's enthusiasm, but that interview was horrible and hilarious at the same time, I completely bust out laughing while driving in my car at the utter cheese of the interview ...
Why stop there? why not ask:
-"TJ how many times do you take a dump a day?"
-"TJ what do you dream about at night?"
-"TJ what kind of soap do you use in the shower?"
-"TJ do you shave your legs"
LMFAO
Finally, in completely unrelated news, my new favourite show Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles has been picked up for a second season by FOX ... Great news for J-Smooth, means another year of watching Summer Glau ...

NBA Playoff 1st Impressions
-Houston/Utah: my boy T-Mac took back a game from the Jazz last night ... I'm really feelin' bad for him, he's just run into a string of bad luck throughout his career playoff-wise ... I hope he can get his first playoff series victory this year, he was really depressed after last season, I don't want to know what another first round exit would do to him ... my father was laughing it up last night and was like, "if he loses again, he's going to retire", then laughs, then continued saying, "he should've stayed in Toronto, then could've won a championship, with Billups, Camby and Carter" ... That's something that a lot of haters say, but thinking about it, would any of these three players (McGrady, Billups or Camby) have become the players they did had they stuck around ... my best guess, probably not ... not with B*tch Carter trying to give his best Jordan impression at the time and putting up near 30 shots a game ... anyways, back on topic, If Houston takes Game 4, momentum has definitely shifted and I see them taking back the series ... Good luck T-Mac, from a fan of yours up in the T-Dot, one of the true ball fans up in Toronto ...
-Detroit/Philadelphia: The Pistons are serious now, that first game was a fluke, they ain't losin' another game in this series ... And if the Sixers manage to keep it close in any of the remaining games, I'll put my money on my boy "Mr. Big Shot" Chauncey Billups to close it out ...
-Celtics/Hawks: Sweep!
-Lakers/Nuggets: ditto ... King Kobe! 49 points, 10 assists last game!
-Hornets/Mavericks: Dallas' run, not just this year, but their whole run over the past few seasons looks like it's done ... While I respect J-Kidd and all his accomplishments, there's no way he can keep up with Chris Paul, but like I said in a previous post, can any point guard in the world keep up right now? ... Maybe I should've made a bet with Zona that no Nowitzki-led team will ever win a championship ... ahhh well, opportunity lost ...
-Phoenix/San Antonio: I sure do hope the Suns can pull it out ... I can't stand the Spurs, Tony Parker especially ...
-Wizards/Cavaliers: I'm backing Agent Zero of course, a Wildcat and I love his swag ... a sharp contrast to my opinion on LeBron James, another one of my most hated players in the L ...
-Magic/Raptors: Ahh yes, my former team ... I did manage to catch the last 6 minutes of the second quarter and a couple minutes of the fourth ... And what do I see and hear ... TJ Ford going off, 4 straight buckets, then all these bandwagon jumping Toronto fans chanting his name, going nuts, "TJ!, TJ!, TJ!" ... sure beats those g*y-a** "ole, ole,Jose,Jose" chants ... If I was Ford, I'd be thinking F*ck all you fans! ... He's been ripped to shreds in the papers, by the media and the fans alike after the first two games ... I'm sorry, but talent-wise he's second to none on the Craptors ... I'll support him next season, on whatever team he'll supposedly be traded to ... As for his teammate and PG counterpart, Frauderon, he was his usual over-rated self in the fourth quarter, from what I saw, deferring to Bosh on 2 out of every three possessions, who wasn't hitting shots BTW ... but then I'm thinking, isn't there some guy named Kapono, I remember from checking stats that he's averaging near 20ppg in the series, shooting lights out ... finally Frauderon decides to pass him the ball, and just as I thought, he nails two or three straight longballs ... of course, that dumba** Leo Rautins pipes in and says it was all due to Frauderon's ability to find teammates ... my father was screaming at the TV the whole game from what I heard while I was busy working out, "give the ball to Kapono! f*cking Calderon!" ... LMFAO ... I'm still taking the Magic in this series ... Toronto has absolutely no answer for Dwight Howard and Hedo Turkoglu ...

Business
-This past week, took care of some old business ... but there wasn't as much action as I was expecting ... At this point, I still don't trust my corner man, but I could tell he prepared for this fight as well as I did ... This "fight" I'm talking about, let me tell the story chronologically ... The pre-fight weigh in was last November ... Rounds 1 and 2 were this past Monday and Tuesday ... To summarize, in both rounds I landed clean shots and combinations ... My opponent, landed 1 clean shot in each round, but neither blow stunned me, nor hurt me for that matter, they were much expected as my camp has scouted pre-fight ... On the cards I clearly won those rounds ... But the round where all the action should be is Round 3, in July ... My opponent will be looking for the knockout after losing the first two rounds ... But I'm prepared for anything they have to throw at me ... It's going to be a hot day in July, that's for sure ...
-Some new business ... Octal has rallied the troops, and has set up the opportunity this weekend for J-Smooth to make his much anticipated comeback and drop his version of Hip Hop is Dead ... But J-Smooth never makes any promises ... But there's no doubt in my mind that the nastiness that made J ... smooth ... in the first place is still within ... But when will he give the fans what they've been missing, and the critics what they've been waiting for? ... Gotta keep 'em all guessin' ...
-Finally, some business that J plans to finish ... A Fam jam comin' up not this weekend, but next ... may be the time where Carteron gets what's coming to him ... that's if he doesn't b*tch up and not bring his shoes for whatever reason ... Too bad I still don't have a video camera, that I could've filmed my training over the past few weeks ... But if the showdown takes place on that weekend, hopefully someone has one ... Let's just say that I don't plan on holding anything back, if he tries to pull anything dirty like throwin' elbows or excessive contact/fouls, you better believe that I won't be afraid to throw a Pacquiao left hook ...

Random Shots
Let's start out with some sports
-I have to say this first, hahahahahahahaha to Toronto and all its Raptor fans ... down 0-2 to the Magic ... can I call it or can I call it ... The Craptors have no answer to Hedo Turkoglu, let alone "Superman" Dwight Howard (best player in the game next to Kobe Bryant and Chris Paul) ... No matter what they do, and whatever these supposed lineup changes will be, it's not going to change the outcome of this series ... What makes me laugh even more, is that people have so much faith in Bryan Colangelo, that they believe he will fix all of this up in the offseason ... The biggest mistake he will make is re-signing Frauderon, that will be the biggest mistake he will make since his time here, the other is clearly drafting Bargnani over guys like: Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge and Rudy Gay ... All I'll say is go right ahead, knock yourself out, trade Ford and sign Frauderon to $10M per season, see how much closer to a championship that gets you ... LMFAO ...
-Can any PG on the planet stop Chris Paul right now? ...
-I just found out that the Toronto Blue Jays released Frank Thomas a few days ago ... wow, talk about a delayed reaction on my part ... I was actually shocked that the Blue Jays even picked him up a few years ago, he didn't strike me as a J.P. Ricciardi kind of guy (in other words a white player) ... Anyways, I don't understand why Ricciardi still has his job, I mean he said he had a "5-year plan", and Toronto has yet to taste the post season under his regime ... Ted Rogers made a financial commitment to this team and J.P. has literally thrown all that money to waste ... He lost all credibilitiy with me the day he traded Orlando Hudson, perhaps the most talented player the Jays have had in their system since Roberto Alomar ...
-I just caught the Bernard Hopkins - Joe Calzaghe fight on TSN this evening ... reports I read were right, it was a stinker ... From what I'm hearing, Calzaghe's next opponent will be none other than Roy Jones Jr. .... ahhh, from one washed up fighter to another ... It's clear that Calzaghe sees himself in the twilight of his career and is only looking for the big money fights at this point, looking to add those legendary names to his resume ... If Calzaghe fought either B-Hop or RJJ in their primes, he'd get his a** smoked ...
-I heard the rumors that Dwyane Wade is dating Star Jones ... oh boy ... When someone falls, someone falls hard ... He goes from being one of the most overlooked talents in the league, to everyone's favourite player, to NBA champion and Finals MVP, to injuries, to his squad losing 67 games this season now the Heat are a lottery team ... I also heard the rumors about a year back that he was cheating on his wife with Gabrielle Union ... Now that is the man's personal life, and I don't give a sh*t what he does off the court, as long as it doesn't affect him on the court ... This season he was bearly watchable, to me he looked like a shell of the player he was in '06 ... You know what they say though, once you reach the top of the world, there ain't no other direction to go but down ... Here's to hoping that you get things together D-Wade ...

-I got my treadmill today, finally, and two days ahead of schedule ... I haven't set it up yet, but getting it down the stairs was a b*tch ... thank God for my workouts over the past few weeks, that thing is HEAVY ... now begins the conditioning and endurance element of my workouts ... notice to all the competition out there ...
-FHM released their sexiest women top 100 list: the only notables in my opinion, 3) Jessica Alba, 13) Eva Mendes, 26) Vanessa Hudgens (yeah Filipino reppin'), 30) Rachel Bilson, 41) Kristin Kreuk, 60) Fergie (because of her association with the "Peas") and 90) Summer Glau ...
-At the risk of sounding wack ... ahhh f*ck it, when was the last time J actually cared about bein' embarrassed ... I watched the Girlicious Finale tonight ... a lot of it seemed pre-recorded, as if the girls were lip-syncing ... that song in the video that was aired at the end of the episode, sounds like something that will be surely played, and played out, in the clubs this summer ... J's really feelin' Tiffanie, the most talented out of the bunch, and as far as her personality goes, the most real out of them all ... The other one that's grown on me is Nichole, I've never really been a fan of blondes, but she's not your typical blonde, she's probably the second most talented in the group ... I ain't going to front either, at first glance, I really was into Natalie, the hot Latina girl, then her ego really went over the top in some instances, but then I thought J-Smooth has an ego as well, so I can't hate on her for that ...

J-Smooth: State of "The Game" Address
J-Smooth probably has to re-address an issue before it is declared beef status, LMFAO ... reiterate that there is no “storm brewing” and absolutely no beef between himself and Anthro, LMFAO ... he’s Fam, period, as are guys like Prophet and Zona ... stuff they all say, J-Smooth definitely gives more attention to, but doesn’t take it personally ... they are free to criticize J all they want, they’ve earned that respect (something J doesn’t give anyone aside from a selected few others) and thus I respect their opinions ... Unlike guys such as Carteron, a scrub who’s words I usually let roll off my shoulders, but he said something that got my attention, thus a beef ... Now, as far as Anthro calling J-Smooth out on the weekend, to paraphrase, all talk, no action ... After which, sentiments which Prophet also echoed, also casting his doubt on J-Smooth’s skills and/or game ... I’ve said it before, I’m not denying that there’s been no action as far as clubbing goes with the boys over the past year’s time, (New Year’s unfortunately doesn’t count because there were no witnesses) ... One line in my last spit, “When was the last time you seen your boy J try”, that’s just it, J-Smooth hasn’t tried ... Not an excuse, but partly because J-Smooth’s become disenchanted with the state of the game in T-Dot ... b*tches given too much power who feel they deserve so much, coupled with wack-a** chumps diluting the market by permanently scaring these b*tches, thus ruining the game for pimps alike ... J-Smooth assumed he could just lay in the cut, watch and admire Anthro from a close distance do his thing, the emergence of a new star and watch him utilize his talent the way he has ... also assumed J could take on that veteran status, take a back seat to the new talent, and pick and choose his spots ... Well, I guess I assumed wrong on all counts ... like that whole Nas/Jay-Z “king of NY” thing a few years back, like Nas said in Ether, “these streets keep calling” or like he said in interviews “the streets wouldn’t let it die” ... Now, in my last spit, that was a pretty accurate account, from my perspective anyways, about how “the game” was for J-Smooth, there was probably only one line in that whole spit that was exaggerated ... on a side note, I’m declaring right now Pimpin’ is dead ... but it doesn’t mean that vets can’t stick around and still show the game how it’s done ... As far as where things stand right now, J has to re-affirm why he got dubbed “Smooth” in the first place, “the streets” are callin’ for Young J, or J in his Prime ... Another thing, J never claimed to be the best in the game, just stood by his accomplishment ... But this game is unforgiving, it’s about what have you done lately ... but that’s alright, J-Smooth’s re-emergence should have anticipation at a fever pitch and should make for a very interesting next outing, whenever that is ...

Random Shots
-More examples of what difference a suit makes ... I was in a suit today, I went to our local Tim Horton's, this cashier who's served me before, she usually says "can I help you" in monotone when I come by, but mind you I usually rock jeans and a shirt ... But today in my suit, she was like "good morning sir, what can I get for you today?" ... 2 possible theories: 1) it was the suit, 2) her husband used viagra last night ...
-Have any of you seen that Hyundai Sonata commercial?, they are spoofing Indecent Proposal ... This guy in a suit (assumingly the rich Robert Redford guy) is talking to a Sonata owner, then says "I'll give you a million dollars to spend a night with her" (referring to the car) ... The owner was like, "uhhh, no" ... I'm thinkin' 2 things: 1) stupid commercial, 2) the dude's a f*ckin' idiot turned down a million dollars because he loves his sh*tty car so much ...
-When I was kickin' it with the boys this weekend, the topic of Star Wars came up ... the intricacies of the force and overall Star Wars mythology ... Then I found out that lightsabers (Jedi and Sith weapons) are actually available on the market, pretty close to the authentic ones portrayed in the movies, but obviously don't cut through things ... there are a couple of battles some fanboys filmed with these "lightsabers" posted on YouTube! ... I particularly liked the following:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqDl2iVe1xc
the ending is funny as hell ... I was saying this weekend if I got one for myself, I'd have to get red, because if the "force" was something real, I would definitely succumb to "the power of the darkside" ... or maybe get a purple one, like Mace Windu "the most powerful jedi", purple because a Jedi's lightsaber is commonly blue, while Sith carry red, the purple is a mix between the two, without crossing that line into the "darkside" ... I'm not a hardcore Star Wars fanboy, but the mythology of the story definitely intrigues me ...
-LMFAO, Hilary Clinton, Barack Obama and John McCain on WWE Raw ... hahahahaha ... desparate for votes are we? ... pulling out all the stops ...
-That whole Texas polygamist thing is just disturbing ... while it is every guys fantasy to have multiple partners simultaneously, I'm thinking about those kids who, some don't even have a birth certificate or know who their true father is ...
-Has Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay been released yet? ... cynics will say that the movie will be crap, but I'll give it a chance for what it is as a movie on its own ...
-One movie I don't plan on seeing is the new Indiana Jones ... something that shouldn't be revived in my opinion ... like Sylvester Stallone's Rocky and Rambo ... those ships have sailed, let it go you old fogies ...
-A "Scandalous" photo of teen idol Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) has surfaced on the net ... So much for this "good girl", "role model" thing that she's prided herself on ... First Vanessa Hudgens, then Jamie Lynn Spears, now Cyrus ... TV isn't safe for kids anymore ... I hate to think about what it'll be like for my future kids, what kind of role models they will have ...
Head hurts right now, I'm out, peace!

Sports Saturday; 2nd Lyrical Post
Quote of the night:
"If I was 4 inches taller, and worked on my game, I'd be in the NBA and be exactly like Chris Paul"
-Anthro
Well Saturday night, I was over at Chris Paul's crib (LOL) watchin' nothin' but sports, with CP3 his brothers and Prophet ... actually sat and watched a portion of a hockey game (in all honesty, first time in over two years) ... I just don't get excited watching it, much like I feel about soccer and MMA, but more on MMA in a bit ... We also caught the Mavericks-Hornets game ... Chris Paul (the real CP3) is absolutely on another planet right now, absolutely dominant ... I don't think there is anyone in the league that can guard that guy ... the main reason we were all there last night was to watch UFC's St. Pierre versus Serra ... how about that? J-Smooth hardcore boxing fan, watching MMA instead of the Bernard Hopkins-Joe Calzaghe fight ... But that's OK, from what I've read, I didn't miss anything with that fight, apparently it was a complete stinker ... Back to MMA, I still didn't get excited off of it ... but I have to give UFC credit for their promotional ability, the sport has really caught on mainstream, but like I was saying last night, as it grows bigger, more money will be involved, thus enter promoters (ala boxing, Don King) who see a great business opportunity, eventually, from what I'm expecting, will corrupt the sport ...
OK onto more pressing matters, my second lyrical post ... my follow-up to the debut ... I've really just been having fun with this whole thing formulating spits, just talkin' sh*t like J-Smooth does, nothin' too serious yet ... But for sure on my next lyrical post, I'll give you all some real talk on some real sh*t ... Hey Prophet, the offer stands for you to sign on with One Truth Entertainment, open contract to you and any of your LC members, then maybe we can coerce Octal into signing as well, get him to drop some Dre-like beats ... LMFAO ...
CAN’T FORGET ABOUT SMOOTH [“Can’t Forget About You” – Nas’ Hip Hop Is Dead Album]
There comes a day in your life when you wanna kick back
Re-lax on the porch when I’m old perhaps
Wanna gather my thoughts, down a cold one
Brag, to the youngins about how life was pimpin’
Lot of cats front ’bout their past but yo that’s how J-Smooth lived
Memories in my mind of all the things that I did
Can’t remember all their names, can’t believe
How much of a true player that J became
Then gettin’ in relationships that kept J’s game on lock
All that, and J-Smooth is still here and he’s still hot
Wow, I need a moment y'all
See I almost felt a tear drop
[Chorus]
When was the last time you seen some real action
J, the cockiness, the swagger
When was the last time you seen your boy J try
Never on schedule, but always on time
[Hook]
B-Town holds my greatest days
Newman taught me hustlin’ ways
Made me, truly that is what made me
Break me, not a thing's gonna break me [2x]
It all started on Brookfield’s block
J-Smooth method J-Smooth walk
Get b*tches wet when they hear me talk
That's my past that made me hot
Here's my life long anthem
Can't forget about Smooth
(Can't forget about, Can't forget about Smooth) [2x]
Can't forget about the old school, P. Cam, From the other class
First Jubby, then she dropped my a**
Can't forget when I first managed to get with “Jeze ... belle’s” sis
Then we broke up, J hasn't been the same since
Life was regular, the 0-3 went corrupt
Then Young J became a hustler
Can't forget ‘bout all the b*tches and one-nightaz
The back alley, Honda Civic, the chick with the two young kids
Some things are forever, some things are not
It's the things J did that year that raised Big J’s stock
They stay in a place in my mind so snug
Like who the person was with whom I first made love
[Chorus]
[Hook]
Unforgettable, incomparable, I go by J now
Just one syllable, it's the end cause the game's tired
Used to go off vibe, eye contact, J was rarely denied
Pickin’ up b*tches just barely tryin’
In those days there was no need for pre-rehearsed lines
And I don't wanna keep bringing up the greater times
But I'm a dreamer nostalgic with the state of mind
The past the past enough of it, aight then
But nothing makes me smirk more than 9-9 Summer’s end
Young J when his talk was live
B*tches be callin’ J up when they’re still with other guys
[Chorus]
[Hook]
That's why, darling, it's incredible
That someone so unforgettable
Thinks that I am unforgettable too

J-Smooth Historiography
Past Night's Recap: walking, bouncing, a long walk, abandoning a graveyard, bouncing, more walking, mis-directions, taxi cabs, finally settling, steaks, no rhythm, lack of co-ordination, laughing, joking, bouncing, more walking, J called out, walking again, burritos, the end ... wait, rewind, did I mention, J called out? ... LMFAO, brief history lesson, friendly reminder, so here we go ...
'99 was J-Smooth's Illmatic ... J-Smooth's emergence, a new style, a new era, a new breed, putting people on notice ... then '00 was It Was Written, the follow-up, still pleasing, but some critics felt J-Smooth took a step back ... In 01-02 came, I Am and Nastradamus, at that point it seemed Smooth had disappeared off the map, sold out ... But then '03 saw the re-emergence with Stillmatic, a new found swag, confidence, greater accomplishment, and firmly established position ... 04-06, not as motivated, but still solid follow-ups, God's Son and Street's Disciple ... Since that time, there has been the emergence of new stars, more specifically in '07, however J-Smooth took a step back, took an observer position, just sticking to doing interviews about the state of the game, ie. how it's not the same, how b*tches' "too good for you" attitude has diluted the game ... But here comes '08, and the skills have been called into question once again, young guns callin' out bosses ... question now is, when is J-Smooth going to drop Hip Hop Is Dead, and show the game how it's done and hold down his spot? ... J-Smooth loves criticism, feeds off of it, hate and crucify J now, LMFAO ... Before, the speculation starts or before this gets perceived as a beef, thinkin' that J is all p*ssed right now, or all bent out of shape, J's going on record saying, quite the contrary, he's just been re-focused ... Something that was greatly needed, and right now much appreciated ... Smooth will also go on record and say the recent questions about himself are all true, J has been ranting this-and-that about the game, but hasn't dropped any "songs" in a while ... J has been preaching "knowledge", but hasn't taken any "awards" home or earned that "paper", to show for it ... no denials, no excuses, that's how it's been over the past while ... Time comes when an artist has to prove he still has "it", this may just be one of those times ... J can worry about "legacy" after his retirement from the game ... But before concluding matters, just a sample for the fans ...

Burritos and Ball
Yeah baby, my town's got not one, but two Mexican restaurants now ... The first was Mexicali (a sit-down, dine-in place), now we've got Mucho Burrito (more of a fast food restaurant, but none of that Taco Bell sh*t, they use real ingredients) ... I said a while back that the best burrito I've had in my life was at that downtown place, Burrito Fresh ... well, I spoke too soon, Mucho Burrito is the spot now ... I wonder how many burritos it's going to take for me to get sick of that place, but even if I do, they also serve quesadillas ... ahhh Mexican food, lovin' it! ... now all we need is a Popeye's Chicken in my town, and we'd officially have everything we need in terms of restaurants (well in terms of what Canada has to offer anyways, no Carl's Jr., In and Out, Nathans, Roy Rogers, White Castle or a Cheesesteak place) ...
After all the weight training over the past few weeks, I finally got the chance to get out today and play some ball ... first time since the end of last summer when I balled with Anthro in B-Town ... As I expected, my handles were a little rusty, layups felt awkward and my jumper wasn't falling consistently ... Also felt kind of winded, as my endurance isn't there yet, haven't got any cardio in at all in my training ... countdown: 7 days (minus today) till the treadmill is here, should do me some good ... If I played Carteron right now, up to say 21, the score would probably be something like 21-7, he could probably score some cheap baskets with my conditioning not where it needs to be ... In about a months time, I should be fine, in two months, I'll probably be in the best shape of my life ... by that time I should be at my target weight, be at my goal in terms of strength training and be in a rhythm as far as my game is concerned ...
Watch me now ... I'm comin' Carteron!

Redneck Hangout
Oh man, last night I was at this truck stop restaurant in my town ... I've cracked on my town before for bein' a hicktown riddled with trailer trash, but I didn't realize how much so until last night's experience ... "unfortunately no one can be told what the Matrix is ... you have to see it for yourself" ... I was there for a meeting with this guy, who subsequently is from my town as well ... so we, uh, actually, he decided, for us to meet there ... Now it's a truck stop, so obviously I'm expecting to see ... well, you know ... truckers ... boy, it didn't disappoint ... they were out in full force ... Now picture it, Asian dude, in baggy jeans, hoody, and ballcap, walkin' into a restaurant like this ... I wish this was an exaggeration, but everyone in that f*ckin' place, at one point or another, turned around and stared ... I'm pretty sure it would be much more extreme in the southern U.S., down there I'd probably get hollered at with remarks like "we don't serve yer kind 'round here!" ... But at that truck stop last night, to those folk, I was definitely out of place ... the guy I was with, asked, "have you ever been here before? ... this place is legendary" ... my response, "legendary? ... why is that?" ... he goes, "you know that statue of that guy in front of the CBC building downtown? ... well word is, he drove all the way from downtown to eat here for lunch on his lunch break" ... I'm thinkin' two things: First, ahhhh yes, legendary indeed! it's definitely the cat's meow!; Second, that statue-guy is a f*ckin' moron, drivin' all the way here, that dude must've had no friends to eat with for lunch ... Now during the course of our meeting, I'm observing the place and the people around me ...
Now let me list the things I see:
-truckers, obviously, rockin' plad shirts, which they aren't able to button at the bottom, 'cause their bellies are hangin' out big time ...
-some other dudes in dirty jeans, and ripped T-shirts, looked like they haven't showered in a month ...
-mullets ...
-g*y-a** tattoos, one dude had an anchor on his forearm ... he kind of looked like Rick Rude ...
-women with the big, puffy 80's style do's ... and overdone, thick makeup ...
-A guy in a Buffalo Bills 1991-92 Back-to-Back AFC Champions shirt, not a throw back, an authentic, it's also ripped and dirty ... made me so ashamed to be a Bills fan at that moment
-finally, not another coloured person in sight ...
-only thing it was missin' was a jukebox and dancefloor ...
Throughout the meeting, people would occasionally glance over at our table ... let's just say last night was an awkward night and hilarious at the same time ... maybe I should check that place another time, make that a hangout on the regular ... ***sarcastic *** Sonny's has nothing on that place ...
One of my boys: J, what's goin' on tonight?
J-Smooth: Yo, I'mma be at the truck stop ... you wanna roll? ... that's the f*ckin' spot right now...

Random Shots - XXL
Let's take a look at what's going on with the world at large ...
-ahhhh, a hot issue nowadays are the soaring food prices and what it means for the poorer areas of the world ... first off, I think the situation sucks ... Unfortunately this is one of the drawbacks of the Capitalist system, everything has become "commodified", in other words price tags can pretty much be slapped on anything, if it has use value, then it has exchange value ... It's a matter of supply and demand ... People criticize the Communist system all the time, but the Capitalist system is designed to benefit the wealthy and exploit the poor ... Now I'm not going to debate which system is better, partly because I'd have a pretty trivial opinion only having lived under one, but I will say both are deeply flawed ...
-these increasing food prices have led some to speculate on possible riots ... well the Philippines says that won't happen ... Not to put light on the situation, but Filipinos denied of their rice? hmmm, my Jedi sense foresees outrage! ... next thing you know they up the prices of a box of skyflakes, and cases of San Miguel and Red Horse beer to $100US each, Filipino's worldwide would be ready to brawl ...
-On the topic of commodities, I've been reading up recently on buying and selling of organs ... Do I think it should be legalized? in all honesty I'm not sure ... Stats show, that there are a lot of people on waiting lists for vital organs such as kidneys and livers (only grafts, ie a small section) ... A good percentage of those people will unfortunately die while waiting for those organs to become available ... Now again, supply and demand ... A great demand, how do you increase the supply? well some believe that putting organs on the market should be legalized ... There are people currently going to third world countries and purchasing these organs from live donors ... Now here's the part that I disagree with, those live donors in third world countries are desparately in need of money, and these people with money that require the organs are exploiting these peoples' need of it ... Now the question is, would those people still donate if they didn't need the money? I can't speak for them, but I'm guessing probably not, I know I wouldn't even if the procedures were legal ... Some people argue, that we should be able live autonomous lives and make decisions concerning our own bodies ... But I believe, that people are doing unnecessary harm to themselves by doing so ... Others will argue that, it will help decrease the number of patients on the waiting list ... Well I say, these procedures don't come free, in fact, if organs are put on the market, they too become "commodified", I'm sure they'll be quite pricey given the demand ... Thus, only the wealthy will have access to these organs, the working class or those in a financial pinch may be out of luck ... There are so many avenues this discussion can go down and I don't have the energy to explore each one at this time ... I guess it's all just a question of your morality ...
-speaking of morality, Pope Benedict (I can't remember which number, I think he's the second, LMFAO, I know I'm such a bad Catholic) met with President Bush recently ... it's been reported that both share the same position on ethical issues such as abortion, euthanasia and stem cell research, as they are against all the above ... But they disagree on stuff like the Iraqi war and Cuba ... Regarding the ethical issues, I have to say that I disagree with both guys, but it doesn't mean I support legalizing any of those procedures ... I remember a convo I had about a year ago with Prophet, Anthro and Octal, about gay marriages ... My stance was, people should be free to marry whomever they want, as long as it doesn't mess with tradition ... The Catholic Church has a long standing tradition of marriage only being between a man and a woman, it's your choice whether you want to follow their teachings and practises if you want ... I would never protest against the church calling for a change, well that's just me, I mean, if you don't like the Catholic Church, don't be a part of it ... On the issues of Iraq and Cuba ... It's obvious to anyone with a brain that the invasion of Iraq was serving President Bush's agenda, which was the oil ... Weapons of Mass Destruction, my a**!, so why haven't you decided to invade Iran or North Korea? ... Cuba, meanwhile is something different, I've read up on the history of U.S.-Cuban relations, but I applaud the Pope who says "no harm can come out talking" ... I'm not going to be a hypocrite because there are a lot of things I like about the U.S., but American politics are synonomous with bullsh*t ...
-meanwhile in local Toronto news ... two men were stabbed heading back to the parking lot in the clubbing district ... this will sound insensitive, but what else is new? ... luckily myself and the guys I roll with steer clear of that district ... there are plenty of other places in Toronto to have a good time, without all the bullsh*t in that area ...
-Blockbuster is apparently trying to acquire Circuit City ... can't compete with the big boys huh? ... Best Buy has really taken a stranglehold on the electronics market ... while online downloading and bootlegging has Blockbuster by the b*lls ...
-Windows 7? F*CK! ... that's more money out of my pocket to upgrade my computer system ... Everyone is always talking about how "bad" Windows Vista is ... maybe I don't use my computer enough to care, but I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary ... Most I've heard is that people have had problems with their accessories, ie. webcam ... Can you say SPOILED ... I hate hearing people complain about technology ... If a computer has internet access, I'm good to go, If a cell phone works, I'm good with that too ... I also hate how people have become so dependent on technology ... In my opinion technology is crippling society ... Remember that Blackout back in '03, I was completely cool with it ... There's something called being resourceful, I think 80% of the westernized world has no idea of what exactly that means ...
-Random thought just now, whatever happened to Sue Johanson and The Sunday Night Sex Show? ... for those of you that don't know, it was a live TV show we had up here in Canada years back where Sue would give tons of information, even answer live calls to give tips and advice ... That show was funny as hell, with some of the things that came out of Sue's mouth, she was so nonchalant about everything ... I don't think there was one episode that I tuned into where I didn't bust out laughing ... Probably the funniest moment was when Sue put numbing cream on her tongue, but I can't remember for the life of me what she said to use the cream for ...
-I think I've plateaued in my workouts at this point, without a cardio machine (the treadmill is coming on the 25th) ... I'm only 10 pounds off my target weight, which shouldn't be a problem when the treadmill comes ... The BMI index is complete B.S. ...
-Is this Clinton-Obama race over yet? geeez ... my father says Hilary looks like a bobblehead, LMFAO ... every time we tune into CNN and hear either one speak, we're always like "oh, shut up!" ...
-My uncle called me last night and told me he was planning to go to New York City this summer, in July, the week before Zona gets here ... he asked me if I wanted to go, I was like, "you had to ask, all you have to tell me is what time we're leaving" ... I'd go right this moment if someone asked me to go ... Hell, I'd go anywhere at this point, just to get out of Toronto ...
-I'm sure a lot of you have heard about that beating of that teen girl on YouTube ... that was apparently the intention of those that beat her, to get worldwide exposure ... shortly after that Dr. Phil swooped in and originally planned an intervention ... Oh God! ... Dr. Phil is a f*ckin' vulture, anything just to get his crappy show ratings ... wasn't he planning the same thing with Britney Spears? ... The problem I have with Dr. Phil is that he thinks he can solve everyone's problems ... what makes him more qualified than anyone else? ... I mean, to really understand someone's situation, you need to be in their shoes ... For example, what can Dr. Phil tell me about what it's like to be a racial minority? ... Maybe, if I ever felt insecure about my looks, maybe I'd ask him on how he deals with looking the way he does on a daily ...
-So last night may be the last game ever played in Seattle for the Supersonics ... Sad, that means there will be no basketball in the Pacific Northwest, aside from Portland ... It's really unfortunate for those ball fans over in Vancouver ... Their team was the Sonics (before and after the Grizzlies) like Detroit was to Toronto (pre-Craptor days) ... I really wish ball could've stayed in Vancouver, unfortunately they had that clown Stu Jackson running the team into the ground and dumba** ownership ... I hope someday it returns there, as Vancouver is one of the cities I'm considering eventually settling down in, having a ball team there so I can watch games would be a plus ... Back to the whole Seattle thing, it's too bad, they're building something nice with Kevin Durant and Jeff Green, coupled with their draft pick this year (I'm hoping Derrick Rose or Jerryd Bayless) ... It's O.K. they'll likely be my squad next year and for years to come, regardless of where they're playing ...
-I haven't been to the movies in ages, but if I had to pick one flick I'd like to see, it'd probably be Street Kings ... I can hear Prophet and Anthro in my ear right now, "Dumba** J, don't waste your money, that's what UTorrent is for", LMFAO ... Forest Whitaker, Keanu Reeves and Common, I believe are all in that movie ...
-speaking of Common, I was watching TMZ a couple weeks back (LOL TMZ, more smut TV, but I can't help but watch it), they caught him on video mouthing the words to that old school 80's song "Wake me up before you go-go" ... LOL, yeah Common, way to act all hard, jamming to George Michael ... I shouldn't talk, I like a lot of wack music from the 80's as well ... If I was a rapper, a lot of my samples would probably come off songs from the 80's ... J-Smooth can be wack too, a couple of my jams from the 80's "Man in Motion" off of the St. Elmo's Fire soundtrack, and "Smooth Operator" by Sade, yeah I said it! ... Go ahead, after you're done reading this entry, YouTube them, those tracks are great! ... The 80's as a whole were great, no doubt, When Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie were Kings! ...
-I took my parents' Honda Pilot in for service and while I was waiting, I browsed around the showroom ... Then I saw a car which I would've considered my dreamcar back in high school, the Honda S2000 ... Back then I thought it was the greatest car in the world ... It's funny how things and tastes change ... I had the same kind of love for the Cadillac Escalade back in '03, but again, the infatuation wore off ... While in the showroom, all I can say is that it was love at first sight when I saw the new Accord Coupe, a thing of beauty, a V6, 6-speed ... I said to myself, well it gives me something to work for, when I get a new job ... I checked the pricing for a fully loaded Accord Coupe, about $39,000 before taxes ... can you say, After-Christmas sale ... I thought, if I'm going to spend that much on a ride, might as well buy an SUV, or even a pick-up truck ... speaking of pick-ups, I've always been impressed with Honda's Ridgeline, since it came out in '05 ... That's another ride that I'd like to get ... People always say, it doesn't matter what kind of car you have as long as it gets you from A to B ... well to me, there's nothing wrong with getting from A to B, in a ride that's somethin' to C, LOL, cheesy line! ... Listen to me talkin' about cars, if I had my way, I'd have a Mercedes-Benz and a Range Rover parked in my garage ... In all likelihood, as far as top end cars that I'll own in my lifetime, it'll probably be an Acura or Lexus ... ahhh whatever ...
-I guess, the secret's out, on my future plans ... My intentions to work in Japan, leaked to my entire extended family, in what seems like a matter of seconds ... My inner circle of friends know about my plans as well, so I figure I may as well blog about it ... I'm 100% go on this, I think it would be good for me to do some growing up on my own ... Japan's a pretty westernized country and on top of that Asian, so the transition shouldn't be too bad ... The only thing left is to pick a place in Japan where I want to be, Tokyo and Osaka would be the most popular choices, but I'm leaning towards Nagoya, it's in the middle of the aforementioned cities and there's an international airport in Nagoya ... My father says that there's a bullet train that goes in between Tokyo and Osaka, with Nagoya right in the middle, it should mean easy access to both those cities, it would save me the expense of having to purchase a car over there ... I'm planning on staying for at least 2 years, nothing less than that, because only 1 year wouldn't be worth it ... In all likelihood, I may stay out there between 3-5 years ... Being on my own, doesn't scare me at all, because I know I'm ready for it ... Although the potential threat of Typhoons, Earthquakes and Tsunamis does concern me a little bit ... The only thing that's got me p*ssed are all the family weddings I have to come back for (Tatsu's in 2009 and the expected ones, of both my sis and my cousin Juddimac sometime in the next 2-3 years) ... But that's alright, I have to re-enter Canada every six months anyways, to maintain my OHIP (I think that's what it is) ... Who knows, maybe I meet the future Mrs. Smooth out there in Japan and I'll force my Fam to come out there for the wedding as payback ... It's too bad I wasn't out there right now, because I'd be a commuter flight away from Beijing and the Olympic Games this summer ... between now and my eventual departure, I think I should try and pick up some Japanese, so I don't look like a complete dumba** while I'm out there ...
-I'm promising myself that I'll be in Las Vegas in 2009 for a Manny Pacquiao fight, he said that he plans to wind down his career over the next two years, and I have to catch at least one fight live ... I'm guessing the third fight with Juan Manuel Marquez will be in 2009, so maybe I'll come down for that, maybe make a pit stop in Phoenix afterwards as well ...
Well that should give my readership enough to chew on for a bit ... peace!

Well that should give my readership enough to chew on for a bit ... peace!

BBQ; The Masters and Tiger; Pistons-Raptors on ABC
It was a pretty chill Sunday for me ... the most I had to do was BBQ some burgers ... as soon as the weather warms up every year, the menu at the J-Smooth household is 75-80% BBQ ...
I tuned in to the Pistons game on ABC against the Raptors ... wow, the Raps on ABC, let's just say it was a refreshing change as opposed to "Professor" Leo Rautins spoon-feeding the audience with his "knowledge", like we're all a bunch of r*tards ... It was also nice to watch a game without the local bias ... The ABC commentators telling it exactly how it was ... All I have to say is, I was wrong about my predictions concerning a potential Pistons-Raptors playoff matchup ... If they do end up pitted against each other, the Raptors will lose by a 15-20 point margin in a 4-0 sweep for the Pistons ... Today, the Raptors main guys couldn't even beat the Pistons' reserves ... It was especially fun watching Frauderon get schooled by 50 Cent, oooops, I mean Rodney Stuckey ...
I also tuned into The Masters final round ... come to think of it, I really haven't blogged about golf before, so here goes ... Playing the game, well, let me go on record saying it's the toughest sport in the world ... No matter how talented you are, there is no perfecting it ... If the best player in the world, probably ever, can't perfect the game, that really says a lot about the level of difficulty ... I also have to say that I don't think it's fair to the competition how good Tiger Woods really is ... I mean, whenever someone asks, who's gonna win the _______ tournament? ... I'm betting 95% of people will say Tiger ... In pro golf, the picture is really Tiger and those "other guys", the disparity between himself and the rest of the competition is staggering ... Even though Tiger lost today, coming into today's final round he was down 7 strokes, it wouldn't of been any surprise to anyone if he found a way to come back ... Despite the level of difficulty, nevertheless, it's an awesome sport to play ... Another problem with the game is that it's pricey, well up here in Canada at least, I've already got the equipment so I'm good to go, but a bucket of balls at the driving range is about $7-8 Canadian, a round of golf at a decent club is about $45-60 ... I hear it's much cheaper down south ... I hope to play at least a handful of rounds this summer, I'll also be at the driving range at least once a week ... I tell my father all the time, if I ever win the lottery, I'll never work another day in my life, and devote my time to travelling, working out and working on my golf game, maybe even earn my PGA Tour card ... Ahhh big dreams, but like I said in a previous post, you have to earn everything in this world, God's not going to just hand me millions of dollars in the lottery ...

Cotto - Margarito Showdown Immanent
Nuff action in boxing tonight! ...
Yeah! that's right, my boy Miguel Cotto did his thing tonight and scored the easy TKO over Alfonso Gomez, retaining his WBA Welterweight title ... Cotto simply outclassed Gomez, showed why he's one of the best in the world ... Mayweather, has great reason to fear this man ...
In the other big matchup of the night, Antonio Margarito destroyed welterweight pretender Kermit Cintron to capture the IBF Welterweight championship ... I've lost respect for Cintron since he backed out of the Paul Williams fight that was scheduled for earlier this year ... With Cintron's loss, that takes him completely out of the welterweight picture ... Williams' upset loss to Carlos Quintana, cost him the WBO Welterweight crown and took him out of the picture as well ...
Cotto, has already beaten "Sugar" Shane Mosley, Zab "Super" Judah and Quintana, so that means only three remain atop the Welterweight division ... Cotto, Margarito and Floyd Mayweather ... But with Floyd off in his own world, that sets the stage for a huge unification bout between Cotto and Margarito this July ... Now that's a fight I'm looking forward to seeing ... The winner of that fight will walk away with both the WBA and IBF titles and a strong case for best of that division ... This may be enough to lure Mayweather back for one more fight to face the winner, to settle once and for all who is the best Welterweight in the world ... Of course, I'm picking Cotto over Margarito, but I'm thinking it will be a very close fight ... Should be a lot of action though, Margarito has knockout power, while Cotto is a devestating body puncher ... Puerto Rico versus Mexico ... I'm wondering what venue it will be in, Margarito has a strong fanbase in the U.S. southwest, while Cotto has a strong Puerto Rican contingent in NYC ...
In other Cotto related news, he's apparently signed to endorse the Ecko Unlimited for three fights ... Cotto's rockin' one of my brands ...

NBA Playoff excitement? ... hardly; Craptors
I remember back in the day, elementary and high school around this time of year, I'd be amped for the upcoming playoffs ... this year, not so much ... actually for the past few years now, not really ... the quality of the NBA product has really declined in the past 10 years ... No intense rivalries, ala Lakers-Celtics, Pistons-Bulls, Bulls-Knicks ... With the rule changes implemented over the years, fans are now forced to watch this watered-down, soft-ass game ... That, in my opinion, is why the game has been opened up for European players, for finesse, fundamental players ... All I have to say is, name me one Euro player besides Rasho Nesterovic that can play even a bit of D? ... you'd really have to think hard about that one ... This year, the only series' that I might watch in their entirety are the West, East and NBA Finals ...
As for my former favourite team, the Craptors ... I'm hoping that they finish in seventh, thus drawing the Detroit Pistons in the first round ... I guarantee they'll get ripped apart, exploited and swept out of the first round, losing each game by an average margin of 10-12 points/game ... Now that would be a thing of beauty to watch ... Bosh doesn't have a chance matched up with Rasheed Wallace ... Richard Hamilton will show his wannabe (Anthony Parker) how it's done ... and my boy Chauncey Billups will abuse which ever point guard Sam Mitchell choses to put on him ... I'm laughing at the current state of this Craptor team, I actually sat down, while eating dinner and watched 10 minutes of the game last night against the Nets with my father (first game I've watched since the game I went to against the Hornets, more on that later) ... My father became so frustrated with the team after the first quarter, he got up and left the family room in disgust saying "trade the whole friggin' team!" ... LMFAO, my sentiments exactly ... even though they ended up winning, he still could care less ... My father has absolute contempt for Bosh, who doesn't kick the ball out when he's double/triple teamed, dribbles into traffic and settles for the jumper too much ... In my mind I'm laughing at one of my elementary school friends, Chipy, who's Andrea Bargnani's biggest advocate ... he may not see this, but I'd tell him "Bargnani's quest to become the next Nowitzki has been brilliant" ... my father told me last night that Charlie Villanueva torched the Craptors for 27 points in the first half alone this past week ... I definitely miss Charlie in Toronto, the kid's got a great skillset and so much talent ... People might critique him for his sub-par defense, but my response, his 6 RPG is astronomical compared to Bargnani's rebounding ability, or lack thereof ... If Colangelo had found some way to keep him on the team and acquire TJ Ford at the same time, I may still be a fan at this point ... In my opinion a Bosh-Ford-Villanueva core would be 10x more solid moving forward than the likely Bosh-Frauderon-Bargnani trio Colangelo is planning on ... speaking of Ford, it seems that his Craptor days are coming to a close following the season, with the media, commentators and unknowledgable Toronto fans alike politicking for Colangelo to deal him ... in a recent interview Colangelo has verbally committed to keeping Frauderon in a Craptor uniform ... Here's the thing though, if you trade Ford, what can you get? ... It certainly wouldn't be an upgrade at the point, the only two in the league I see are Chris Paul and Deron Williams and no GM is stupid enough to deal either one ... No team would give up a big man, who's a tough interior presence for TJ, nor would a team give up a 20 ppg scorer, given Ford's injury history ... The most the Craptors could probably get at this point is a 2nd tier swingman, ie. Corey Maggette ... While I like Maggette, getting a player like that would only be a lateral move, if not a step backwards ... I've said it once and I'll say it again, most Toronto fans have no clue when it comes to sports of any kind aside from hockey ... Finally, when I was at the Hornets-Craptors game a couple weeks ago with Juddimac, I made good on my promise to boo the hell out of Frauderon when he entered the game ... This girl, around my age, turned to me and said,
Female fan: "did you just boo him?"
J: "oh hell yeah!"
Female fan: "but TJ hogs the ball"
[I'm thinking, who the hell was talking about TJ? is that all you Frauderon d*ckriders can say?]
Then this male fan beside me says
Male fan: "have you checked his stats? he's putting up Nash-like numbers ... he's the next Nash"
[Rolled my eyes, shaking my head]
J: "So he's gonna be MVP, first team all-NBA and a future Hall of Famer?"
Male fan: "Oh for sure, you watch"
[gave him a thumbs up]
Case Closed ... that ladies and gentlemen is an example of the ignorance of most Toronto fans ...
It's a double-edged sword if you want to watch ball in Toronto, you could go to the game and sit to morons like that, or you can stay home and listen to the supposed human basketball encyclopedia, Leo Rautins, share his "knowledge" and "insight" on the game ...

NCAA Final Game, NBA Draft
Awesome game last night, I guess my prediction fell to the way side ... Arguably the two biggest sporting events of the year (SuperBowl, Final Four) and we've been blessed with great games ... I thought Memphis had it locked in the final minutes, but I have to give Kansas their due ... I have to say, even though Chris Douglas-Roberts had me on my feet with his jam over Kevin Love in the Semis, I'm not sold on him as a pro ... He's really benefitted from having a top tier PG by his side this year ... He's got decent handles for a swingman, better than average athleticism and the tools to be a good defender (long arms and above average lateral quicks), but he seems to only be effective when he's dominating the ball ... In the NBA, I don't see him being a 2nd or 3rd scoring option on any team, maybe 4th at best ... I could easily take into account the "composure" factor, missing 3 clutch free throws down the stretch, he's young so that can be worked on ... However, I'm sensing the ghost of Ed O'Bannon in him ... The guy that I'm really impressed with is Derrick Rose, great size for a PG and should be a stud coming into the league ... while I'm on the topic of NBA prospects, from the NCAA tourney the focus now shifts to the NBA Draft ...
On a side note, NBA Commissioner David Stern and his NCAA counterpart (the name slips my mind) are discussing raising the NBA age limit to 20 (equivalent to 2 years in college) ... I'm all for it ... From my observations, 1 year in college still seems to not be enough for some players to gain that maturity, experience and the skills to make that transition into the NBA ... Sure, they'd be depriving the league of studs like Greg Oden and Kevin Durant for a few years, but those guys are exceptions, talents like them aren't the norm ... Overall, I think it will help improve the quality of both the collegiate and pro games ...
Back to the Draft, I'll first talk Draft Classes in history ...
The Best: the 1984 class, of course, Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Hakeem Olajuwon and John Stockton ... 4 Hall of Famers, 4 of the 50 Greatest, 3 MVPs ... among them, the greatest player of all time, in my opinion the greatest power forward to play (next to Rodman), one of the greatest centres and finally the all-time steals and assist leader ...
2nd Best: 1996, All I have to say is Kobe, AI, Nash, three of the best players playing in the game right now and future HoF's ...
My Favourite Class: 1997, Tracy McGrady, Chauncey Billups and Tim Duncan ... 2 of my favourite players and 1/2 of the Adidas Brotherhood ...
In the past few drafts I've been interested in who the Raptors were picking, but considering I'm no longer a fan of theirs coupled with the fact that I question Brian Colangelo's drafting ability with Maurizio R*tard-ini in his ear, my attention shifts to other teams ... I'm real anxious to see where Derrick Rose goes ... Miami, who has the most ping pong balls this year, would be an OK fit for him playing alongside D-Wade to form an explosive backcourt ... If he went to Seattle, now that would be an awesome young core: the multi-talented wing (Kevin Durant), the do-everything wing (Jeff Green) and the playmaker (Rose), it would finally give me another team to follow, I'm callin' it right now, if Seattle gets Rose, the Sonics would officially be my new squad ... Should they miss out on Rose, Arizona's Jerryd Bayless would be a solid fit for them as well ... As long as the Sonics land one of the top 3 or even 4 picks, they should be able to land one of them ...

Random Shots
-R.I.P. to Charlton Heston, one of Hollywood's all-time greats ... starred in perhaps my favourite "old film" Planet of the Apes (no not the watered down modern version, the original) ...
-I'm goin' with Memphis over Kansas in tonight's NCAA Final Game ... Did anyone catch Chris Douglas-Roberts' dunk on UCLA's Kevin Love on Saturday ... Just Nasty!
-Tim Horton's raised prices on beverages, greedy b*stards!
-Got a bunch of prospective tracks to frame my next spit ... I also plan on doing my own, I used to write my own spits about 3 years ago, I wish I'd saved those, but that was under the old MDG label, but J-Smooth proved to hard for them cats ... Now J-Smooth's back in the game, with his own label One Truth Entertainment, a one-man corp, how it needs/has to be, LMFAO ...

Movie Review: Star Wars Episodes 2 & 3
Boy am I delayed ... by years ... Growing up I was a fan, not a diehard fan, but a fan nonetheless of the original Star Wars trilogy ... So of course when the first prequel came out in 1999 I was eagerly anticipating how it would turn out ... lets just say that I was kind of disappointed, from that point I said to myself I would never have expectations of a movie again, just to take them for what they are ... So fastforward to this weekend ... The Spike TV channel was airing all three prequels this weekend, so this was the first time that I saw Episodes 2 & 3 ... But surprisingly enough, I wasn't bored at any point during either film ... Really the only complaint I had was the sole emphasis on what producers could do with the new technology, ie. special effects, computer animation ... But getting the background info on the characters immortalized in the original trilogy was enough to pique my interest ... Seeing the battle between Darth Sidious and Yoda was probably my favourite part of both films ... Two all powerful forces, both at opposite ends of the spectrum, what sucked is that the battle had to end in a stalemate, because of course neither could die as they both are part of Episodes 4-6 ... Another thing that I noticed about the films were the religious undertones to them ... "The Dark Side", what happens when consumed by hate, jealousy and the consequences for succumbing to selfishness, greed ... The good side of the force, selflessness, acting for the greater good ... Overall, I give the movies each a 3.75 out of 5 ... I know all the diehard Star Wars fans would like to see Episodes 7-9 produced ... I say, don't mess up a good thing, the prequels almost did that with Episode 1, but luckily saved themselves with the following two ...

Kryptonite; J-Smooth lyrical blog debut
Man oh man ... Last night ... Let's see, what can I liken that to? ... Missing a wide-open jumper at the buzzer, a 6-inch putt to win the tournament, dropping a game winning pass in the end zone, not finishing off your opponent when he's staggered and on the ropes ... Not that I'm rubbing it in or anything, LMFAO ... All seriousness though, Anthro, you're still my hero, you've got all the knowledge and skills, now you just need to develop that killer instinct in the clutch ... Once that's there, your game will reach new heights ... The bright side of this situation right now, it's still the "pre-season", "exhibition games" ... Prophet, Roldy and myself all have your back ...
As mentioned in my previous post "It's Coming", well it's finally here, J-Smooth's first lyrical post ... Prophet beat me to it, but it's all good ... I used Nas' track "One Mic" from his Stillmatic Album, I initially had the idea to use "Ether", but "One Mic" fit a lot better ... My track is going at my current nemisis, Carteron ... This is the first of hopefully a few lyrical posts ... I'm sure after reading this I'll get offers to sign with Prophet's "LC" label, I told him that LC doesn't have enough money for me, LMFAO, but no beef though, I have nuff respect for LC ... As to a possible J-Smooth, Black Prophet collabo in the future? Well it was discussed last night, nothing's been confirmed or signed, but I'll go on record and say that anything's possible, LOL ... So enjoy ...
ONE GAME ["One Mic" – from Nas’ album Stillmatic]
One time.. yeah.. yeah..
Yo, all I need is one rock, one hoop, one game
One scrub up in, my face lookin’ to take aim
If I only had one arm, one eye and one leg
Still whip yo’ a** any day the week twice on Sunday
Ball, this game you a virgin son; shoot bricks
ask anyone, you’ll regret f*ckin’ with this Flip
Shout my name with yo’ d*ck suckin’ lips, talkin’ sh*t
Talkin’ ball at my family party, hear you exhibit
Your lack of knowledge, your boy Bargnani’s f*ckin’ sh*t
Like you suck, brought up the time you balled with us
F*ckin’ joke to us, now you want a game with me “cuz”?
Play me? I chuckled, you told me my time was up
I just thought, you’re f*cked up, ignored you again
Mindin’ my business, while I downed my Heineken
Hearin’ the disrespectin’ shots you come at me with
Back you up as I fire back, I ain’t takin’ sh*t!
D-Mac ‘n ball I'ma rep, to the death of it
Sharin’ same blood as my own, bredrin Zona is grown
Juddimac, no one balls like we do, we’re f*ckin’ warriors dude
takin’ weak a** posers to school
In my life I gone ‘gainst Phoenix, Jersey, NYC ballers
Break your ankles with no conscience, post you all day you’re smaller
IF YOU REALLY THINK YOU READY TO DIE, GET F*CKED UP
SHOW YOU WHAT J-SMOOTH’S BOUT, CRACKER THE TIME IS NOW!
Yo, all I need is one game..
All I need is one game.. that's all I need
All I need is one game.. all I need fellas
All I need is one game.. yeah
Yo you ain’t got one shot, one hope, or one chance
One prayer – I already beat you once man
As a matter fact more than once, look back
barely scored points against me, could count alla them
Compared to you I’m “23”, I hit shot after shot
Yo I’ll spot you fifteen for free, gotta win by two
Which means, I’ll shut you down then straight score 17
And your two Raptor camp moves, ain’t gonna save you
You keep sayin’ we gotta play sometime; you must like losin’
D’you ever give up?, must be blind like your confidence
I hardly cared, but you rolled up, then war was declared
Adrenaline pumpin’, don’t front I know that you’re scared
Let you run your mouth for too many years, too many times
Now you’re faced with a heavy mismatch, J’s in his prime
Hey yo Octal come and see me straight up embarrass this p*ssy
When you get yourself a new set of moves then come check me
Trash talk back all you say – you fuss, J fuss, you cuss, J cuss
You’re nothin’, feel me? You fear me in your gut
I ‘M GON’ TAKE THIS B*TCHA** TO WAR, BEAT HIM DOWN
CAUSE I”M STRONGER NOW YO CRACKER THE TIME IS NOW!!
All I need is one game.. that's all I need, that's all I need
All I need is one game.. nuttin better in the world
All I need is one game.. that's all a baller need to do his thing y'know
All I need is one game..
ALL I NEED IS ONE SHOT, ONE CROSS, ONE SPIN, YOU’RE DONE MAN
YOUR SKIN COLOUR SPEAKS FOR ITSELF, YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND
You’ll never come out on top, I’m egotistical
Just tellin’ you real sh*t, you play ball like b*tches do
Wheezing in just a minute, asthma attacks get you
Yeah boy I know, what your weakness is I have none
Just ‘cause you got with my cousin you think we’re cool wigga?
Think I wouldn't kick your a** son? Fooled you wigga
Always sayin’ you could beat me in ball, you all talk but no action
Talk is cheap, can’t back up all your braggin’
Your racial remarks, doin’ nothin’ but fuel my
Competitive heart, instinct, where did it start?
Hooped at Brookfield since I was a youngster
Whenever I played Anthro, used to get killed then I worked on my jumper
The up-and-under, cash from long range, B-Town ballin’ back in the day
Newman squad reigned never droppin’ a game
But Prophet broke his leg the season was finished
Hated the feelin’ of losin’ a game since then it became all about winnin’
Son don’t bother tryin’, I’ll exploit all of your mistakes
Freeze you with a change of pace, Lock you up, see I’ma tell you straight
Swellin my melon cause none of your talk is real
Heard Tatsu’s, marryin’ a scrub, how does that make her feel?
Boy you’re crazy, I'm best shape my life, no points I’m allow
Let’s get this over with, the time is now
All I need is one game.. yeah, yeah yeah yeah
All I need is one game.. you’re the biggest scrub in this world, f*ck you
All I need is one game.. f*ck your game, I’ma film it
All I need is one game.. punk you out in front the whole world

It sucks; It's coming
Has there ever been something you've ever wanted to do or say, and it's fully within your power to do or say, nothing physically restraining you, consequences are minimal if you do, but still you're for whatever reason unable to do so?... Let me tell you, it sucks! ...
On an unrelated topic ... it's coming ...

Farewell Ric
I tuned into The Score last night to check out highlights, but I caught the end of Ric Flair's Farewell Address at the end of WWE Monday Night Raw ... now I'm not going to front, because I've never really been a fan of his ... growing up, I was mostly backing the 'Faces (for those of you unfamiliar with wrestling jargon, it means "good guys") ie. Hogan, Warrior, Macho, Bret, Taker, Razor ... Then in high school I was a WWF loyalist, and Flair at the time was painted with such strong WCW colours ... The only thing I took from him was his walk/strut, as Prophet managed to so eloquently put it in his recent lyrical barrage on J-Smooth, LMFAO ... With all the talk about how phony guys like Flair, Triple H and Shawn Michaels are backstage, there was nothing at all phony about the display last night ... If you're a wrestling fan or have ever been one, you have to respect what Flair has accomplished in and contributed to the business ... I liken it to Karl Malone and John Stockton retiring, I was never fans of theirs either, but I have to appreciate what they've done for basketball ... Last night, I couldn't help but getting a bit misty-eyed and choked up, with all the emotion displayed on Raw, on the part of Flair and the other wrestlers ... In pro wrestling, guys never get to go out like they would like, but with Flair last night, that's about as good a send off someone could get ... Undoubtedly for me, one of the most memorable moments in wrestling, ever ...
For all of you that want to see the Farewell, just YouTube it, type in "Ric Flair Farewell Address" ... That song playing in the backround for Flair's family's entrance and at the conclusion of the video was nice, "Leave the Memories Alone" by Fuel ... nice touch ...
Thank You Ric!
